So where I am seems to be having a bit of an Indian summer and my buddlia is a magnet for butterflies. But I was surprised to see some medium sized brown moths buzzing round it when I got in from work about 6pm. I took some really crappy pics with my phone but I think they might be enough for an ID. I was hoping they might be hummingbird hawk moths after seeing one down south at the weekend but even with my poor moth knowledge, could see they were not.

Silver-Ys are the only daytime moth I'm seeing at the moment. You did well to get any image of them with a mobile - they're busy little things and reluctant to pose. I was quite pleased with this one but took about 20 shots and a fast shutter speed to get it!
