Hi all,
Many people who are into wildlife don't seem to have interest in video games and vice versa. Perhaps because the hobby niche only has time for one or the other, or perhaps because many people are put off by the idea of addicting games. But many video games revolve around the ideas of collections and finding secrets, it surprises me there have not been any proper hybrid wildlife-themed video games for instance that simulate or relate to actually finding nature in real life. Unfortunately our current generations are more and more focused on digital media than the great outdoors (trust me, I'm one of the current generation, so I know), but I figured what better than trying to bring the feeling of finding nature to the digital world.
For instance I started a project last month. It is a little moth trap simulation game where you can work with different light types to attract different moths, while collecting currency and upgrading the light etc. I intend it to be a mix of an educational game and exposure to the great diversity of the outdoors. If it does well on release perhaps I'll try coding others.
Is this something that anyone here would be interested in? Either way, I'd be interested in a discussion of video games and nature irrelevant of the project I'm working on.

It's an interesting subject, for me personally gaming and entomology are both hobbies for me, but have never met anyone who is the same in that respect.
I remember when I was younger thinking how much I would enjoy a UK wildlife game to play, and think I just settled with Pokemon, echo the dolphin and the Lion King games! Although the wildlife games I imagined were ones with mammels rather than insects.
When your moth game is released I would love to give it a try.
