Look at the habitat- it's growing on a wall- usually here or natural rock formations on acid stone. Largely absent from your part of the world Nelly; mainly western distribution.

Well done, Stig! Here's the bottom half. I see there are plenty of records from SW Scotland, even from Mull, so Nelly might see it, though admittedly this photo was taken in Ireland. However, this was on a very basic (Burren ruin) substrate rather than an acid one.
