Just thought I'd show you today's find, thought the Fomitopsis pinicola on Duglas Fir planted in 1919 looked as magnificent as the tree and I nearly trod on the Laccaria amethystine growing at it's base. OK so I might be wrong on the red banded polypore - still learning

I have seen the bracket fungus (or one very like it) before, but not the purple one - that is an amazing colour.
