These were tallish upright plants. Having said that it could be just environment. The Lousewort I have growing here is always very low to the ground sometimes difficult to see with other plants, but I agree the leaves (what I can see of them) do look the same. I found it interesting that given their environment quite a few plants seem to grow differently on the NE coast. Example - I could not make out what trees seemed to grow most on the Moray coast, In the end I got a photo of an avenue of these trees ID'd. So embarrassed when - after quite a bit of discussion they turned out to be Sycamore (I have three in my patch here NW) The leaves were spot on but the trees had no bark and were almost white. Anyway back to Lousewort here is a photo of the ones that grow here (very boggy, rocky peat) The photo posted ground is mainly sandtone or graywrack and sandy.

These are great plants, never seen them before - I love the extra info' too - really adds to the 'feel' of the plant, what it's like and how it lives. 'Lousewort' - what a splendid name for a wildflower! Thanks to aeshna. Really enjoy your plant finds and their stories. Thanks for posting.
