Ah, the 'Selfheal' - wrongly identified by myself very recently! Here are a few pictures of this tiny little fellow with very complex flower-spikes! To figure them out I had to resort to a dissecting-microscope... Prunella vulgaris is my most-hated flower. No, I don't really hate any plants, but Prunella does annoy me sometimes. This is because it grows in so many different habitats, and you see a splodge of purple coming up and you think 'Oh, that looks like something really interesting!' But when you get there, it turns out to be just old Prunella again. I remember someone once saying the same thing about Cadbury's purple chocolate wrappers . . .
