So come on then, can't remember where this thread left off, but I'm now the current winner! Amazing! Let's see how long it lasts... (John you can't post ) Up to 147 so far with Curlew Sandpiper being my latest. 150 was my target for the year, so not looking too bad 147 - htcdude Nige

I'm not even up to 100 yet (my target). My last was Sedge Warbler. I think I might make it, as soon as I see a House Martin. So by that logic I must be up to 99!!! I'll go on "Keep" and drag my list off when I see the Martin. It was sad to see WAB go and I sort of a. lost interest at that point, and b. found out that there are butterflies around now, which I find distracting. :-D BUT I hope WABI is here in winter when there is naff all else to do, apart from feed birds, cut down trees and pull up leeks and parsnips. (Me in my balaclava).

Hi old friends; good to be back (thanks to Pete Collins who gave me the link!)
Quite a few additions since my last WAB count with the summer migrants.
Totting up I reckon I'm now on 184 (well behind Lee Evans who I saw is on 250!!). One new UK bird for me in Hudsonian Godwit on the wonderful Somerset Levels. At the same time as watching this there was also Great White Egret + a smart drake Garganey in view.
Have no doubt John will soon be leader of the table with his extensive travels when he adds his tally.

I reached 100 (target) today with Common Tern.
I'll post my list below. Next year may be a bit different as I may have a scope by then and then I'll be able to see more birds and go into competition :-D.
[At the moment I have a good tripod. I am working my way up, planning to get to a head next (pistol grip takes my fancy) and then the spotting scope. It's all going to take some time to get all this and be happy, so I'm working my way, bottom up it seems. :-) I also need a good ruck to fit some of this in. Being a small female lugging these things around, I have to think about weight and comfort (and not wielding all this over my shoulder, because I often get the bus or train). At the moment I only take a good quality pair of bins, but they are small, with the smaller FOV and only x 8 magnification.]
Anyway, that's my excuse for being LAST. LOL
The list:
1 Feral Pigeon 2 Black-headed gull 3 Blue Tit 4 Woodpigeon 5 Coal Tit 6 Dunnock 7 Great Tit 8 Goldfinch 9 Blackbird 10 Magpie 11 Carrion Crow 12 Collared Dove 13 Starling 14 Grey Wagtail 15 House Sparrow 16 Robin 17 Jackdaw 18 Wren 19 Song Thrush 20 Little Egret 21 Heron 22 Kestrel 23 Cormorant 24 Nuthatch 25 Goldcrest 26 Coot 27 Tufted Duck 28 Shoveller 29 Kingfisher 30 Redwing 31 Fieldfare 32 Tree Sparrow 33 Chaffinch 34 Lapwing 35 Lesser Black-backed Gull 36 Common Gull 37 Great-crested Grebe 38 Moorhen 39 Greenfinch 40 Mallard 41 Pheasant 42 Swan 43 Pied Wagtail 44 Canada Goose 45 Red Kite 46 Pochard 47 Teal 48 Gadwall 49 Greylag 50 Wigeon 51 Great Spotted Woodpecker 52 Snipe 53 Red-crested Pochard 54 Sparrowhawk 55 Bullfinch 56 Scaup 57 Ring-necked Parakeet 58 Tawny 59 Rook 60 Stock Dove 61 Goosander 62 Mistle Thrush 63 Treecreeper 64 Siskin 65 Long-tailed Tit 66 Jay 67 Linnet 68 Herring Gull 69 Little Grebe 70 Pintail 71 Green Woody 72 Little Owl 73 Buzzard 74 Stonechat (m + f) 75 Water Pipit 76 Meadow Pipit 77 Goldeneye 78 Reed Bunting 79 Rock Pipit 80 Redshank 81 Skylark 82 Shelduck 83 Great Black-backed Gull 84 Golden Plover 85 Cettis Warbler 86 Curlew 87 Black-tailed Godwit 88 Blackcap 89 Oystercatcher 90 Grey Plover 91 Dunlin 92 Red-legged Partridge 93 Chiffchaff 94 Swallow 95 Mandarin duck 97 Reed Warbler 98 Swift 99 Sedge Warbler 100. I'm not typing the whole of my list but I will mention a few of the more scarcer species I have seen. I haven't been birdwatching since 11th May, when I returned home from a good trip around the Scottish mainland and the Western Isles, but by then I had reached 216 for the year.
