Crambidae family I believe, and I'm guessing at Eudonia murana, but any help would be appreciated! Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Micro_MothA4-0039 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

You're certainly in the right area but do find these scoparids tricky.E.murana appears to be a fairly northerly species but otherwise looks fairly good. Not one I've seen in the south-east.

Thanks Aeshna5. Having looked into it a bit further, it would appear that I may not be within the documented range of Eudonia murana, and if I am, I'm right a the Southern limit (however, did anyone tell this to the moth I photograped?). On the balance of probability based on location, it's more likely to be Eudonia truncicolella, and apparently these 2 species are difficlt to tell apart even using dissection.
Thanks for your help
Dave
p.s. Is there anybody else out there who can throw any light on the situation, particularly regarding range limits?

These are quite tricky, to me this has more of a feeling of Eudonia lacustrata. I've had a few looking similar to this which I originally thought were E truncicolella, but was corrected by the county recorder.
