I remember the reports about the damage whenit originally happened. So often you see the report of what's been done but not the final outcome. Just seen in this case:

I don't know about jail there's people out there that should be locked up and are let free.
On the other hand I saw the pictures and the damage was disgusting, he should be made to pay and I think is being but I really mean pay a lot of ££££££££££'s

In addition to the environmental damage, etc., one aspect that concerns me is the reported "... ordered to pay prosecution costs of £600,000". Prosecution costs of over half-a-million £ means authorities have to be very very very very confident of winning or they could end-up massively out of pocket (particularly relevant where public bodies have ever shrinking budgets). Such prosecution costs will be a major hindrance to pursuing cases into court.
