The Retained EU Law Bill was introduced into Parliament on 22nd September 2022 by the then-Business Secretary, Jacob Rees-Mogg. He announced the bill would “reform and revoke hundreds of laws that have their origins in policies from the European Union."
If what I have read and heard is correct the Bill, if it becomes law, will allow ministers to keep or revoke legislation without the scrutiny of Parliament.
Some of the retained EU laws are related to environmental protection and therefore the Bill could weaken such protection.
