We did our BGBW earlier today.
I chose one of the feeders to watch and the bit of the garden nearby. The count was
Coal tit 1 Robin 1 Blackbird 2 Greenfinch 4 Siskin 5 Goldfinch 6 Chaffinch 15
This was in the first half hour and then no birds for the rest of the watch.
At one point Mrs T, who had been watching another part of the garden, came to where I was and said, "Have you got any birds?"
We assumed a sparrowhawk had visited and scared the birds. We spent some time watching and were lucky to see one do a dash around a bush after some of the smaller birds.

Bird numbers do seem to go down each year.
For me:
6 Ring-necked Parakeet 11 House Sparrow (used to get 30+) 1 Goldfinch (used to get good numbers but no more than a pair recently) 8 Starling 4 Blue Tit 1 Great Tit 2 Robin 1 Dunnock 1 Wren 2 Magpie
Haven't even had a Wood Pigeon in the garden in the last few days which is unusual, haven't seen a Blackbird down my road for months & the pair of Coal Tits that had been around last month weren't seen. The Blackcap too has been absent.
