Oh, dear- the blackbirds were NOT happy about this. I had just put their dish out with breakfast in it, when the fox came over the back fence- trotted up the path, stretched up to see what was on the garden table and then hopped up and proceded to help himself to their mealworms and suet pellets. The male blackbird actually flew up to sit on a branch just overhead for a closer look, as though he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Neither could I- mealworms are expensive!

Gorgeous photo and the fox looks quite well and healthy, could cost you quite a lot of money!

There is a fox that is a regular visitor to my garden. One late morning the fox appeared. Not the usual time for it to visit. It was pouring with rain that day. It had a wander around the garden as usual and then starting eating the seed from the ground feeder. Despite it looking fit and healthy I could only assume that it was very hungry and resorted to eating the bird food.
The fox stayed for about 20 minutes scoffing the bird seed after which it disappeared into my neighbour's garden.
When I checked the feeder I found that the fox had eaten all the black sunflower seed and left the rest. A rather discerning fox as the birds tend to eat all the sunflower before anything else.
It's been back a few times since but has ignored the bird food.

That is a lovely fox, Harold (with a much thicker coat than the one in my photo,) ...and it's interesting that yours has a scar at the same place over the hip just like our one. I wondered if he had been either hit by a car or bitten by a dog.

The scar on the hip has always been there. It looks more pronounced because the fox is soaking wet. I assume it was hit by a car as I live in an urban area and there is a lot of local traffic.
