The frogs have been attracting a few visitors over the past few days... A heron didn't have any luck, due to the fencing around the pond, but it sat and watched the frogs splashing about for a few minutes before flying away. A sparrowhawk was more determined, and flew down to sit in the cascade three times before also giving up. I wasn't able to get any photos of it fishing, because the daffodils are in the way- but it came and sat on one of the fence posts for a moment or two and allowed me to get this close-up shot. Lovely shots of these formidable predators. I not infrequently see Sparrowhawk in my garden but have never had a Heron come down, though I do see them occasionally fly over the garden.
