Very nice photo, Shirl.
I've seen several Green-veined Whites already this year, whereas I normally only see (or rather, recognise) one or two a year. I don't think they're getting more common, I think I've finally learnt to pay a bit more attention to White butterflies.

You may well have noticed an increase in Green veined whites pete they are the most common white I am seeing now numbers were up last year up this way and so they seem to be up more this year its the most common butterfly I am seeing apart from tortoiseshells and Peacocks at the moment especially were there is a lot of wild ( farm escape) oil seed rape growing and there is a lot of this round this way and they are multiplying as per this pic gren vaied whites mateing by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr
