Been checking up our Sparrow hawks nests today and only just noticed how well hidden and high their nests were this year, all dispersed now by the way. I say this since they’ve never nested so high in previous years, in point of fact other bird species nesting here have also had their nests very well hidden. Mind you the increase footfall from the general public is something to believe that I can only put done to the covid pandemic, so just wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing. I should also say I’ve been so busy with the little owls I’ve had very little time to monitor the Sparrow hawks in terms of changed nesting habits; I should also say the juvenile little owls are still here and will be for a while longer yet.
