A few days ago Snowlynx and I went to visit Stratford-Upon-Avon, and one of the places we visited was the Butterfly Farm, (I'll post more about that later.) While we were there, I noticed this little bird bobbing about on one of the pathways inside the building. There were no other birds there so I'm not sure how it came to be inside, but it didn't seem to be too concerned about the people stepping around it. It let me get quite close to take these photos... I'm thinking it's some sort of quail? It does appear to be wearing a band on its left leg, but the photo isn't clear enough for me to see a number. 01 Bird for ID by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr 02 Bird for ID by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

It's certainly a type of quail- I suspect one of the varieties of Chinese Quail which are popular in captivity.
