Two clumps- didn't get a chance to take a photo, I'll try and upload one tomorrow!

Seems quite late given you're around London? I've had mine 3-4 weeks now. Noticed this morning a lot had finally emerged from their jelly.

It is late, but our frogs are late every year. The pond lies in full shade from autumn until early spring, (the first sunlight didn't fall on the edge of the pond liner until mid-Feb) and so it's only started hitting the water this week... and then only on the one pond basket they've started spawning in. Maybe the pond water is just that bit colder than everyone else's, or maybe they do need sunlight to trigger them? I don't know, but for whatever reason they hold off. A few more clumps appeared after I took this photo, so there's about five now. First Spawn Mar 2021 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

Looks good. My pond also lacks sun in the winter which I didn't really appreciate until I had my new pond put in (where my old one had been) last summer.

Hoping for some spawn soon as yesterday was the first time I saw frogs mating this year, which is late I think.

We now have a small clump of frog spawn in the pond now. I think it has been there for a couple of days and when I first glanced at it I mistook it for some developing blanketweed.

Does the frogspawn which is above the water lever due to the boyancy suffer in any way (ie drying out)?
Cheers, Tony.

It doesn't appear to dry out, Tony- the only danger seems to be from frost, which will kill it if the temps fall low enough.
Some of it always dies no matter what, though- you can tell if the little black dots go white.
