Talking to my brother yesterday on the phone and he told me of some gulls sat on a roof opposite his home looking through his bins he noticed one was pink head to tail? he also told me of once whilst out at the coast birding he saw a similar gull but yellow. A fellow birder said in some countries when they catch and tag some birds they dye them True or false? ian

There was a pink gull seen in Devon two years ago, but I'm not sure if they'd decided it had been dyed or not... www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-45129087I wasn't able to find anything about ringers dyeing the birds, though.

In Spain I've seen domestic pigeons that have been dyed like this-some in quite lurid shades. Believe these are harmless vegetable dyes.
