Good afternoon everyone, we feed 'our' hedgehog(s) in small dishes under a supermarket basket with an access hole in one end. We have watched the hog feeding and it packs it away, turns round and leaves.
The other day we found the dishes had been moved to the entrance hole (but still inside the basket), a few days ago the basket was overturned and the dishes were feet away.
Big moggy or foxy? (There is a trail camera on its way). Cheers, Tony.

Based on my limited experience of such matter I suggest a fox. When we first started putting food out for a hedgehog we used an upturned plastic box with a hole cut out the end. The local fox did not move it but managed to squeeze enough of itself in to get the food. We eventually built a wooden box with baffles so there was no straight line to the food. This video shows what the fox did in trying to get to the food(dry dog food) inside. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lFiZQZB7FAAt that time I reckon the box plus the planter on to weighed about 5 or 6 kg. Now it has another pot on top and probably weighs about 9kg and the fox generally leaves it alone, though now and again we find fresh teeth marks on it. Dave
