We went to Stanmore again a few days ago, and as we were leaving I noticed this growing on the underside of a fallen log. There was a lot of it- well over a metre in length, but made up of separate bracket-type growths- very bright yellow-orange where the sunlight fell on it. It looks like chicken of the woods to me rowanberry shines like a beacon when fresh it's eatable but I'd rather see it on the tree than my plate I find it in the woods here occasionally seriously damages the living tree. ian
