Here's something I've been seeing more frequently over the last few years. One on Tuesday. Some just down the road others further away not a large number but half a dozen plus in say three or four years. Dead ferrets quite possibly polecats at the side of the road. I'm quite familiar with the size and colour of a hob 'polecat like' ferret I kept one for a while and it's the jill's you put down the hole so their the one most liable to escape the ones I'm seeing are polecat coloured and large. Maybe it's a sign of the polecat population spreading across the country I hope so would be nice to see a live one I keep telling myself I'll stop and pick one up send it to whoever is doing the research to test but it's not so easy when travelling along and in traffic ian

I think I mentioned this before Ian, we have some here that reside in what I refer to as pole cat ally however, I should have named it something else since our neighbour regularly takes his cows down that way a place where they do like to leave their deposits. Incidentally, I use to keep ferrets as a young boy and take them to school stuffed inside my shirt for company during the day; I know I was a lonely child. Alan
