I'm not sure exactly when (more observation needed) but by 18:00 nobody around on the feeders or wandering around looking for food. But still plenty of hours good daylight left. So does the stopping feeding early mean they have managed to find all the food they need and so stop (no point in looking for food if you are already "stuffed full"). Or do they need the sleep/rest and finish early as they start early (dawn) or some other reason?

Quite possibly foraging elsewhere? There should be an abundance of natural food available now so less reliant on artificial feeding.

Our 'spuggies' were foraging for the wigglers we leave out so late in the evening I had to turn on the outside lights so they could see their supper!
Cheers, Tony.

The number of birds on the feeders here goes down in the evening but there are still quite a few around. Sometimes I refill the feeders around 7pm and there will always be some birds that arrive to use them.
