I wasn't expecting to see any mushrooms or fungi yesterday since it's been so dry, so I was pleased to have spotted this one. I stopped to photograph this huge oak, and realised that there was a large yellow fungus nestled inside a knot on the other side. It was difficult to get a good photo, (it was quite high up) and the second zoomed-in photo was taken from directly below it, but I'm hoping someone will still be able to tell what sort it is. It was very yellow- it practically glowed in the sunlight! Thanks, Aeshna! I looked at some other images on Google, and I think you're right.
