This Newt was in the shallows of the pond in among leaves and algae and some small rocks. It looks very fat bellied, it was going under the leaves and algae, rolling around, rubbing itself along the bottom. i cannot think what it was doing floating around it and where it had been were what looked like tiny white balls. Again I cannot think what this ight be, after all newts lay their eggs in leaves. It was ages doing this then it moved up the shallows to where there was a group of pond plants. It looks as though she may be laden with eggs, but as you say normally laid in plant leaves.
