This hedgehog is a glutton. The bowl was full to the top with hedgehog food. It took about six minutes to eat virtually all of it. Always good to see an animal that is not often spotted.
A few months ago we found we had two hedgehogs in out garden, though we do not see both at the same time very often.
We used to put some of the dog's Chappie out for them, but one of the local cats would often get to it first.
We changed it to dry dog food(with a bowl of water). The cat left this alone but the local foxes ate it.
Thinking of trying dried mealworms, but I suspect the foxes might eat these too.

Hi Dave,
Good to know you have more than one hedgehog in your garden.
If you look in the background of the video you will see a box. It is a homemade hedgehog feeding station which is designed to prevent cats entering and stealing the food. It works well.
The bowl of food on the lawn was an experiment to see what other animals are around besides hedgehogs. The only other animal was a cat. The cat did try and eat the food but it wasn't to its liking and wandered off. The hedgehog food I provide has been specially formulated by Vine House Farm.
Regarding mealworms see Lovehog's post in the Hedgehog Bully thread. Apparently hedgehogs love mealworms but they are not good for them.
Harold.

They will be well-prepared for winter!
I wish we had hedgehogs, but the roads around here are so busy.

I had seen the Hedgehog Bully thread but had forgotten about hedgehogs and mealworms, thanks for reminding me.
The hedgehog feeding station looks a good idea. This could solve the feeding problem here.
