Please can anyone tell me what might be laying clusters of spherical pale yellow eggs along my plastic-covered washing line?

At a wild guess it could be a moth or some other flying insect. Any chance you post a photograph to try identify the culprit.

Whatever it was must have been an excelent parent, wanting to start her brood off as they should go on, "ON THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW"!
