My pond have gone mad this year on the insect front, from the tiny beetles to the Great Diving, Whirlygigs, Skateres and miniscule non-biting midge. Hundereds of tadpoles, a few Palmate Newts. The waterplants too are appearing and some flowering, and I think a bit early but masses of Marsh Marigold and, which I am pleased about Water Cuckoo Flower. I wonder if I will have as many Damsels as I did last year.

Helen I'm jealous! At the moment my pond is a right mess thanks to the Crows.
Someone has been leaving out whole slices of white bread. So what the crows do is pick them up and dunk them in my pond resulting in the bread breaking up and polluting the pond. It is now thick with blanket weed which is not easy to get rid of. At the moment I'm investigating various methods of getting rid of it. If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful for them.
Harold.

No particular suggestion. I have a large platic headed rake the spines are very close together and I just rake it in. Actually bought the long rake that is curved and like a scoop, in a pond shop, it also has a brush head which is quite thick but also curved like a scoop. Don't ask me where i got it - too long ago and bad memory:). it has also been used to move frog spawn from ditch to pond.
