Not unusual for us to get snow in May, infact we have had it in April before now. But for some strange reason, never happened here before. All the trees here opened their leaves at the same, including the ash. First off every surface, top of car, outdoor seats and tables and paths were covered in a layer of pollen, going outside just beathing in yellow dust (Doing wonders for my hayfever). I looked out the window and thought it was snowing, only to see everything being covered in beech casts. Literally everything. Open the door and they blew into the house - scream. It took me and daughter hours the next day to try and sweep it all up and wipe down the surfaces. Seems the pollen and casts were all in a day as few few now floating down.

I don't know, but we've returned to early April temps down south... it was cold today, (around 8c this morning) and very windy. I bought some bedding plants last week for the hanging baskets, but I was glad I hadn't planted them out yet- they're sheltering down in the summerhouse tonight.
