This is from the Royal Museums Greenwich website...
"How to see the lunar eclipse in the UK"
"On 21 January 2019 a total lunar eclipse will be visible over most of North America, South America and parts of west and north Europe. The rest of Europe and Africa can witness the end of the eclipse.
Those in the UK will be able to see every part of the eclipse as long as they are willing to stay up all night! The Moon will start to enter the Earth’s shadow just after 2:30am GMT and the maximum eclipse will occur just before 5:15am. The entire eclipse lasts for more than five hours, ending at 7:48am.
The optimal viewing time to see the eclipse is between 4:41am – 5:43am. This is the period of totality, where the moon lies entirely in the Earth’s umbra (full shadow) and will appear red."
This will be the only lunar eclipse in the UK in 2019... at the moment our weather isn't looking too good for it, but I'm hoping that might change between now and then.

Don't forget to set your alarms, those of you who want to try and see this... it's clear here at the moment, but clouds are blowing in. Might be 50/50 as to if we get to see it in London.

Anyone see it?
I was up about 4am and could see the moon partially covered by the Earth's shadow but only through cloud. Then it clouded over very quickly and that was it.

Likewise. Not being well I was up most of the night - beautiful clear night, amazingly big bright moon until about 4:30 when it turned to a hazy glow behind the clouds rolling in, then it started snowing - no moon!

I set the alarm twice during the night- I got up when it was supposed to start and it looked a bit like a crescent moon, but by the time of the full eclipse an hour or so later the sky had completely clouded over.
I was very tired the next day.
