It's going to be filmed in New England this year- New Hampshire, to be precise.
It will air in October, and the bit I think will be interesting is that they will be looking at "nature's impact on Native American culture" according to the blurb.

I don't think I'll be watching it, I have gone off the program, there was too much chatter, especially from that twit Martin, standing up to his armpits in water, in the pitch black of night, listening for things in the reeds, Put Iollo Williams in the mix and I might go back to it,

Hello once again playmates, I hope members do not think I am a grumpy old man who enjoys having a rant but it is a fact one’s tone is very difficult to express in a medium such has this, however having said that the following is my opinion on autumn watch. And so to begin with I do not own a TV has there is nothing on worth watching, well hardly anything, but I just so happen to see autumn watch last night whilst visiting a friend and found it has boring as ever hosted by those whom mostly know what they read from books and given information told from researchers, in fact I doubt if any one of them has ever spent more than a few hours in the countryside let alone many summers in a tent.
On the question of Johnny Kingdom, he was not the person he was made out to be has he was also a poacher, I know this has I have family who own land in that part of the world. Having lived in the countryside all my life I know all about poaching and their appalling methods in killing animals and it is not the romantic thing the general public think it is. I could go on to describe their methods in vivid details, but think Africa and you will not be far out.
But why oh why did the BBC choose America this year, has most people know this country is one of the worst in the world for animal welfare and world issues, for instance they believe global warming does not exist. Furthermore this is a country where hunting all kinds animals is seen as a jolly good day out not only by the use of guns but all kinds of medieval traps. Bow hunting is also allowed in which most thing are targeted from large to small including Elk and moose, being a field archer and have been all my life who only shoots at straw targets I am still aware of what would be involved in shooting an animal with a bow and believe it is not a pretty sight, having found arrows in animals bodies done by from trespassers on my own land.
Some of these fools use the compound bow which can be has lethal has a rifle the arrow passing right through all in its path, in consequent s a low draw weight recurve bow is often used, by that I mean a forty pound draw weight when forty five to fifty five pound draw weigh is needed to stop a large animal providing one strikes the heart. However most of these fools could not hit a barn if they stood inside let alone an animal’s heart often leaving the poor animal to run around wounded and dying in agony with a medieval broad head buried deep inside its body.
But I expect huge amounts of money” was the catalyst in deciding where to go this year in order to increase one’s own bank balance by “all concerned,” has for the autumn colors nothing beats the sights that can be seen in this country in my opinion. And before it slips my mind tagging an animal and showing maps and charts of its journey is foolish has it does not take a genius to know why animal choose to move from one area to the next, science will not solve the problem either as only mans attitude can do that which will never be done as long as man remain in charge, as greed remains as ever the finale answer to everything the world over, and as for man killing each other over such a thing as creed and land ownership, well that is another story.
Alan, still wandering

I too haven't bothered with Autumnwatch this year.
I can see that another Autumnwatch (or any other "....watch") in the UK would risk repetition, but given that the BBC is not awash with cash, I can't see how an American Autumnwatch is justified. Could not a smaller, but still substantial, amount have been spend on a really 'new' Autumnwatch in the UK.
I quite like Martin Hughes-Games but agree the live pieces to camera from a swamp in the dark are ridiculous. Do the BBC think viewers will not understand that it gets dark quite early in the autumn here. If they feel the need to have Martin standing in the goo it could be recorded earlier in the day.
My main objection is it appears the presenters or the production team think the programme has to be, to my mind, stupidly jolly.

Well I enjoyed seeing Autumnwatch in New England. There is some fabulous wildlife there which I enjoyed watching. Many years since I've done any US trips so some nice memories.
