Grapes from Sainsburys come from Spain I think, not sure if the bug came with them or if it found it's way in over here so not sure what sort of shield bug it is ian shield bug by ian robinson, on Flickr

Looks rather like a Eurygaster sp to me.

I believe they are resident in UK known as the Tortoise shield bug Eurygaster testudinaria Duncan

I believe they are resident in UK known as the Tortoise shield bug Eurygaster testudinaria Duncan That species is resident + fairly common in the south in grasslands. There are 2 other Eurygaster spp in the UK, though one is restricted to the New Forest. As there was the possibility it had be introduced with grapes from Spain, there are other species there which is why I hesitated in calling it the most likely one.
