Hi All, I was sitting in the hide, had my binns up to my eyes and something caught my eye from the side, a grass snake was coming up towards the hide from the waters edge carrying something in it's mouth, smallish, a hint of brown and you could actually see a scapula in amongst the feathers, my friend and I debated what the prey was and come to the conclusion that it could be a Little Grebe chick, it may have been attacked by a coot and left half dead and the Grass Snake took full advantage of it, the snake was about 15 feet away from me, I got some cracking shots of it, this is one of them.
