Bed time last night and overcast, nothing to be seen tonight I thought. I looked out of the window around 3-45am curtains were open and a few gaps in the clouds could be seen from where I lay. An hour sitting in the back garden resulted in 8 bright but short meteors and 1 satellite by then the sky was lightning up and the the birds were moving about, time for another coffee. I'd downloaded an app for my phone and it looks good I may even shell out the fiver for the add on pack and add free version. Cassiopeia has always been my favourite constellation easy to spot but I never knew she was so sexy ian

I was keeping the Perseid's in mind a few days ago but last night was almost total cloud cover, so no joy.
Dave
BTW What app did you download?

The app is StarWalk2 free version Dave. once you turn off the sounds and music it seems OK even shows the satellite tracks but it's full of adds or 6-9 second waits but for £4.99 you get the full extras pack, check out the free version and take it from there I downloaded from google play my phones android os I think if you start the extras purchase and then quit you get a popup offering you another quid off ian

Snowlynx remembered about this event late last night, and went out in time to see one large meteor. He was pleased, especially since it meant he didn't stand around out in the garden at 11:00 at night in his dressing gown for nothing.
