Just get a blank page so copied the link and pasted it into URL and it worked have copied the link from BBC and think it may now work try this - www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-essex-44046903/southend-beachgoers-leave-behind-piles-of-rubbishIt never ceases to amaze me just How thoughtless people are, it is the mentality "Someone else job to clear up". Once when a couple threw out their MacDonalds take away containers etc out the car window, I went over and picked it up and went to put it through their window. Apart from getting a mouth full of abuse I was accused of putting someone out of their job.

Why do people go to places like this, just to trash it? I don't understand it, either. The playing fields near us are full of rubbish after the weekend football teams have been there- it's usually youngsters' teams, so why don't the coaches or parents see to it that their children clean up after themselves?? grrrrrrrrrr!!!!
We went for a stroll out there today, and when we went to put a bottle in the rubbish found half a pack of unopened bottles of water... why throw away perfectly good bottles of spring water like that?? We are such a wasteful society today... I took them home and watered the houseplants with it. (yes, I am a bit of a scrounger.
Back to Southend... it seems their clean-up crews deserve a medal picking up all that mess- local residents were not amused, and who can blame them?

I too continue to be horrified by litter louts especially those who jettison their take-away containers and cups at local motorway junctions and the surrounding rural roads. And I really get infuriated with the idiots who feel the bottom of our hedge is an ideal place to to dump their waste! Particularly bizarre, someone recently threw a long handled brush (as a road sweeper might have once used) over my neighbour's fence damaging plants in his flower border. In the words of the song - it's a mad world.
