Very nice picture rowanberry more to come hopefully I think it's going to be a colourful year. I'm seeing quite a lot of colour on my walks now especially on the maple type trees. Must gather some leaves and see if I can do anything photo wise, said that last year too

That's a good idea. I picked up these conkers today...there aren't very many of them this year- but these were nice glossy ones! Makes a nice arrangement. Conkers by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

They are supposed to keep moths at bay but whether they do or not who can say, anyhow whilst on the subject of trees how is it the rowan feels cool to the touch whilst most other trees tend not to, both I and my wife have notice this so it is not just me.

Here in NW Scotland most trees have not turned yet but I spotted this rowan today. Dave Mountain ash is another name for the rowan perhaps that is why they are cool to the touch, no seriously though this year’s weather has been remarkable with many birds starting to breed quite early, also noticed our hazel trees are absolutely loaded with nuts which is supposed to be a sign of a very hard winter. A bit of colour appearing. This is the only tree here to start turning autumnal. Though I have to say last week a rowan did have autumn colours but this week has lost most of its leaves. Start of autumn by Helen Skelton, on Flickr
