I don't what's going on here this summer odd one or two small house spiders but the daddy longlegs - harvestman type spiders are every where. Some mornings you can't walk into a room without getting a face full of spider webs I catch them up throw them out and next day there they are again. Still the conkers will soon be ripe and will be appearing on all window sills and door steps, the wife thinks it works ian

Probably the daddy longlegs spider, Pholcus phalangioides, which is normally found indoors in the UK. Always have several in the house.

The spider in the picture looks like a Garden or Cross spider, Araneus diadematus.
Unusual to find it in a house but occasionally they do enter dwellings.
