Saltfleet Haven and the dunes just south of it. This area is all about the salt marsh and sand dunes the sand here is probably some of the finest grained sand in the land but there can be a lot of mud as well. It's low wide and flat and sometimes you see the sea Seems I missed the best of the marsh orchids some years there's stacks of them just a few tatty one now. Highlight though was the acres of sea lavender, samphire and the vipers bugloss. There's something else with the samphire not sure about that. Not many butterflies but loads of cinnabar moth caterpillars. marsh orchids (3) by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr sea lavender (1) by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr samphire (2) by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr sandwort (2) by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr Vipers bugloss (3) by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr

Yes, excellent. Where is saltfleet haven? Between Mablethorpe and Donna nook on the Lincolnshire coast. Donna Nook is a major grey seal breeding spot as well as a bombing range I don't think they bomb the seals November is the breeding season there'll be lots of seals and people, you can get right up close as the seals come right up to the fence line. Mind your fingers. ian DONNA NOOK by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr DONNA NOOK by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr
