Sat waiting for daughter in Glasgow and staring at the ground, I noticed that some of the fallen leaves were amazing with their various colours literally glowing in the sunshine, something I have never noticed before. I picked up some so as to bring them home and photograph. Unfortunately by the time I had got back they had started to shrivel up, but these two show, I think, what I mean. The smaller leaf was just as colourful as the larger one but lost its colour more quickly. Colour of a leaf by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

I love picking up red and yellow leaves in autumn... it's a shame they don't retain the colours for very long. If I was quick enough, I really should attempt a still-life painting of them.

Autumn will soon be on us and all the great photo opportunity's that come with it, yesterday whilst driving I noticed how some parts of the hedgerows were already turning. Still lets not wish summer away to quickly though.
