One for the admins. As you can see I don't mind posting items but I want to make sure I'm not eating up all the precious web space you have. I use the insert links above and hope all the data is stored away photobucket for example. I know on the WAB site there were so many people it just kept crashing and I don't want that to happen here. Although I think more people more posts not necessarily a bad thing or is it? ian

Ian- Unfortunately the storage space we're allowed here as a Proboards forum is strictly limited, (we used it up within the first few weeks!) Now we try and encourage members to open either a Photobucket or Flickr account and upload their images there, and then put a link in their posts, (which means the image appears like an attachment.) All of the photos in my posts are actually linked to a Flickr account. Another advantage to doing it this way is that if the worst were to happen and ProBoards go down it means you don't loose your photos! And you are right- more people, more posts is definitely a good thing! Welcome to Wabi, too.

I use Flickr also. To start with I was not at all sure I could use it (being um an older person and not terribly up with learning new things) However, with encouragement reading you guys posts (early on post re posting images)I decided to have a go and am amazed how easy it is - took a wee while to realise that I had to tick the 'hide from public view' bit when uploading. kept wondering why complete strangers were commenting on my photos - lol! Now all I do is upload my photos, and the one I want to put on WABI I just copy the BBCode and paste it into my post - done!

Thanks for the reply's, at the moment I'm using Photobucket and copying the 'Direct' box that seems about right. Photobucket though is so full of popups I'm forever closing down adds. It's the free version of course but it drives me crazy.
Whats Flickr like in that respect? ian.

No problems with ads etc. Provided you get login name and password. Once you log in you just click on 'you' and a drop down list appears I click 'Photostream' then top right hand there is 'upload', once the photos are up loaded you see them on the screen and put description or what were, make sure you then, before final upload look on owner setting> Privacy> Publicly searchable and click hidden Once you photo or photos appear in your Photostream, all you do is click on the photo, chose the share and copy the BBCode. If I have more than one photo, having copied the BBCode to WABI post, I then return to flicker page click the back page, click on next photo etc - very quick and easy: What I like about Flickr is I can move my photos or videos around and form albums to put them in.

Apparently I had a Yahoo account so uploaded a couple of pics to Flickr it's easy enough and no popups now I've just got to work on resizing them for posting on here. ian

You don't need to resize them, If you copy the BBCode. Click on you image on flicker to see the whole image. along the bottom of the screen there is an upward arrow, click on this and chose BBCode, there is a drop down on this and you can chose the size of the image. I usual use the medium size otherwise when you post the link to your photo it will almost fill the whole of WABI's screen view of the posted image, I use small if I am replying to a post that does not need a very big image. There is a limit on the size of image you can actually download to Flickr which is around 885. As for resizing on your own I use MS Office's Picture manager, there are loads of photo programmes out there - photoshop is one, but maaybe someone else can give you a better idea.

I can see it now NellyDee thank you so much, next time I put a photo up I'll know what to do. As for the resizing on my PC I'm covered there. A friend gave me a copy of photoshop cs3 way back when it first came out. Now there's a bundle of confusing fun but you can find a you-tube vid for almost anything you want to do and at times I've really impressed myself with it. These days I use lightroom 5 for processing my raw images. That's very good and quite easy to use. ian
