I think I would have to say deer as well- there is always something magical about seeing them out in the wild.
In my garden I would have to say the fox, (deer being very unlikely here).
If there is any animal in the world I'd like to see in the wild, I think it would be either the wolves or the American bison in Yellowstone park. It's really difficult to choose just the one!

Salmon, mussels, prawns, scallops, vension (ooops, I mean deer) Sorry, back to the intention of this thread. It depends where and when. I like pine marten and badger. Here in London the foxes are great but it is also great to see/hear returning migrants - willow warbler, swifts, wheatear. However, if I'm walking on a still, damp, cloudy, summer evening in north west Scotland then the pipistrelle is by far my favourite animal. Dave

I think my favourite is a stick-insect, I prefer the 'proper' sitck-shaped ones to the leaf-shaped ones, I find those a little disturbing somehow; although they live for such a short time they're not really convenient to keep, all the messing about with pods - yuk. I love their inscrutable stillness.

I cant think of an animal I don't like... But I am very drawn to whales and all other cetaceans, Raptors (especially short-eared owls and sparrow hawks) and foxes. But the animal SOUND I like best, is the roar of a red deer stag in rut, echoing around the mountains.
