Not too sure I'll read that one Alan, title's a touch close to home ! Danny. I know what you mean Danny but I like to keep an open mind with my choice of literature that does encompass quite a few subjects / topics. But funnily enough the last time I was in London (many years ago) I parked the mini traveller right outside the natural history museum all day with not one bit of trouble, not so today I believe. Have you read 1984 or Dune both set in the future, Dune was the bestselling science fiction novel in 2003 and 1984 is about the thought police amongst other things, some say this holds parallels with today but I could not possible comment of course. But to return to my present choice of reading I find it both interesting and enjoyable, but time will tell as I like to say. Alan

Likewise Alan, I enjoy reading to the point I more often than not have something on the go . As a Glasgow cabbie working nights I find my kindle absolutely wonderful due to the backlight, definitely helps the night pass. As for Orwells' 1984, yes you could say it was prophetic and certainly ahead of its time . Having read that and The Road To Wigan Pier it's easy to see why He described his writing as "trying to fuse artistic and political purpose". Genius .
Strange as it may seem I took the notion to revisit some of the books I've read in years gone by . Great Expectations, A Tale Of Two Cities, and To Kill A Mockingbird . All books I read decades ago . Think I should maybe get myself a life ?

Dune and 1984 are two excellent books.
I think 1984 is one of the best novel of the 20th century and there are shades of it across the pond now -
Donald Trump has to have had more people watching his inauguration than any other president and when this was challenged we are told his party had "alternative facts"
It appears the new president can't stand the idea that he didn't win the popular vote, so the world is told he only lost the popular vote because 'illegals' voted against him.
The EPA has been instructed to remove pages on their website about climate change. Donald Trump doesn't like climate change so if the EPA doesn't refer to it, then it can't exist.
