A starling built her nest up behind next-door's drainpipe and the chicks fletched yesterday... it now seems as though there are young starlings EVERYWHERE. I don't know how many eggs she laid, but it must have been about a dozen. It's funny to watch them follow their mum about, making that peculiar baby-starling noise that they do. They scramble about the garden, and are curious about everything. One sat watching the sparrows in the bird bath for ages, absolutely fascinated, (he kept well clear of the activity, though.) None of them can fly very well yet, and they seem to spend more time climbing than they do flying. Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted

Huge amounts of fledglings round my way there must be over a hundred youngsters hiding out in the bushes and trees directly across from my back door. The noise has been absolutely deafening but it's such a pleasure to see and hear such a spectacle....i have of course been eaten out of house and home

Fabulous images!!! I have about a dozen and they are a source of constant entertainment. In fact, I'd put them heads and tail feathers above anything on the box right now (Springwatch aside).
