If you remember my 'Odd Couple' post. Hoddy mourned the loss of his long term friend and decided he could see his friend in the car wing mirror, spent nearly a year calling and rubbing himself against the mirror on a daily basis. Well at last he has found a new friend, another Carion Crow (wonder if he does not get on with his own sort?. In the last few days Hoody has been introducing friend to the nuts area in the early morning.

That's good to hear... poor Hoody, I'm glad he's got a new friend. That is infra-red making the ground look white, isn't it? Surely you've not got snow this early!

The infra-red, however we are getting frost overnight. think the ground looking white was a combination of slight morning mist rising from the frosty ground.

Hmm it is just a thought but is it possible that it is your hooded crow’s old mate, namely the original carrion crow that has finely returned to your garden, or indeed they are different birds in both cases. Therein lies the rub! Alan

Therein lies the rub! Alan I Did think of that:) But old hoody still wanders round the car (when it is there. daughter been using the car so it is only here at weekends) Don't think it is old friend back - lovely thought though. This Carrion is smaller and looks a bit like a young one to me.
