The Big Lebowski. O Brother Where Art Thou. Fargo. Barton Fink. Mulholland Drive. Lost Highway. Inland Empire, im a huge fan of David Lynch and the Cohen brothers. An American Werewolf in London. Jaws. Alien. The Maltese Falcon. Cookies Fortune. Joe's apartment, the musical numbers by the cockroaches are magnificent and Clash of The Titans, the original movie not the disgraceful remake which had me cursing at the TV screen.

Some more good ones here I see.
A few more -
Heat (1995) Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, directed by Michael Mann. Pacy and with the sort of performances you'd expect from De Niro and Pacino
Leon (1994) Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, directed by Luc Besson. Reno is great as the hitman and Oldman's character is wonderfully unpleasant and dissipated.
Behind the Candeleabra (2013) Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, directed by Steven Soderbergh. Douglas is brilliant as Liberace.
The King of Comedy (1983) Robert De Niro, Jerry Lewis directed bt Martin Scorsese. A black comedy with a one of the best performances from De Niro I have seen.

It is not very often that a film comes along that is suitable for all the family, although my wife and I found it very hard going, ok I do realise it is supposed to be aimed at children but our four grandchildren aged five, seven, ten, and sixteen, soon got very bored and went off and did something else, something missing as I like to say. Agree 'Get Carter' was indeed a great film.
I did used to enjoy watching films but somehow, as the years go by, I don't have the patience to sit through one these days. My wife and I made the effort to support our local cinema several times many years ago to see films hailed as entertaining or masterpieces - and we walked out before the end each time.

We too stopped going to the cinema quite some time back since these new sound systems are far too loud for us, so we now get our films from netflicks.

The last time I was in a cinema was when the first Pirates of the Caribbean was released. Our son and daughter had been to see it and our daughter was insistent we should see it. She was correct - just great fun - and I think far better than any of the other, 'Pirates ... ' films.
The sound did not concern me, though it was loud. I was more than just a bit miffed (I won't use the words I was thinking) by the number of people talking all the way through and more so by the number of mainly children getting up to buy even more popcorn/drinks/ice cream about every 15 mins.
I've heard of a London cinema which is for people who want to watch the film; I must look it out.

Very much enjoyed (Pirates of the Caribbean: dead men tell no tales) the new film in the series, in fact I would go as far as to say it is the best film I have seen for ages. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5V5C8mEVzY
