Went to take photos of flower head for ID and could not believe how many different insects were on the flower head. I counted nine different insects.

Well, after a couple of attempts I've managed to find eight and a couple of possible blurs.

Don't hold out much chance for the insects now 2-3 days of torrential rain forecast. weather warning. The ninth visible, just, insect is part in the first full flower to the left of the hoverfly's front leg.

The ninth visible, just, insect is part in the first full flower to the left of the hoverfly's front leg. So, it was a trick photo!! I ticked off the Hoverfly and then let my eyes wander elsewhere. The one that took me longest to find was the goldy? coloured one that forms an isosceles triangle with the two larger flies near the top.
