Grass snake, slithered rapidly away from my size 9s, crossed a gravel path and quickly disappeared underneath some long grass.

Quite a few frogs in the pond this morning... I didn't realise until I went to scoop out some dead leaves and very nearly lifted one of them out. With the cooler weather, they are a bit more sluggish now and it didn't hardly react to being almost sieved.

Saw a lone frog hopping about in the grass this morning. There was a magpie up in one of the trees, so I caught the frog in a bucket and put it in the pond...he didn't seem very appreciative, but at least he wasn't eaten!

I was trying to tidy out in the garden today, getting ready for winter coming and moved a pot. There was a frog underneath it who had found a nice cosy spot to hide out until spring, and it was not happy with me at all. I didn't want him out hopping about and possibly getting squashed underfoot, so put him in the pond. I don't think he was too happy about that, either.

A frog swimming around in the pond this morning... the second week in December! Far too warm for this time of year.

Just seen my first frogs of the year in my garden pond. First dived under as I walked past to top up the feeders while a second stayed put + watched me as I watched him. Good to see them start to come back.

I mentioned in another thread (Frogs & Spawn 2017) that on Tuesday I returned from a walk having passed a know 'hot spot' for frogspawn and seeing about 12 frogs and 4 clumps of spawn. May be I should have posted here.
I did not have a camera with me so if I get a chance I'll pop back up and takes some photos.

Not sure if this is the best place - loads of tiny tadpoles . Guess I'll be buying lettuce to feed them soon!

A common lizard on one of the hills of Flowerdale, Gairloch. Unfortunately no chance to get a photo. It popped out of the grass on to the path, paused for about a couple of seconds and scuttled off into more grass.

toad in my allotment. Hope my digging hasn't disturbed it too much.

Reckon it will be OK Teasel. In my limited experience toads are pretty good at keeping out of the way and there will probably be lots of places for it and food for it on your allotment.
