. This was on Evesham station today. No longer in flower, but as I dont see Broomrape at home, it was still a treat. Doubt it was Carrot Broomrape despite the many Wild Carrot plants nearby? Could not get in to the garden area, and my train was due - so I'll presume it was Common Broomrape? Wild Carrot is my FOTD

Changing the subject slightly here. What is the flower at front left of your photo? This has appeared in my 'wild patch' and was trying to find out what it was.

Hi NellyDee, no probs, I think you are "pointing" to the seed head of Wild Carrot - there is an out of focus flower just behind it. It is a white umbel-like flower head that has a single red flower in the centre - look up the stories about the red flower - also known as Queen Anne's Lace. The basket-like or bird's nest appearance of the seed head is helpful in identifying it.

Thanks akama, really pleased. I have been recording all the wild flowers that appear in the land recently cleared here.
