Having now purchased a new PC I have a question about resizing photos having lost the previous app on the other PC. But I think for the time being and until I can get everything else sorted out I will try windows paint rather than down loading something else. So if someone could please explain which photo resize would be best I would be very grateful, the paint app shows in percentages and pixels and the maintain aspect box is ticked, whatever that means. So it would seem one can either use percentages or pixels and leave the aspect box ticked or not, any help gratefully received.

I usually make mine 1024 X 780. When I crop a pic I use a 4 X 3 ratio tool which means that when re-sizing, setting 1024 as one dimension will result in the other dimension being 780, but otherwise I would keep the aspect box ticked if I had one, (I don't use Paint). I use a fairly simple but also quite comprehensive (and free) programme called PhotoEditor. You can either download the programme to your PC or you can do it on-line at their website, (I've never actually tried that). pho.to/editor/1024 X 780 will look like this one below. I do the same as ayjay but I use The Microsoft Picture Manager, which comes with MS Office. I think it is good as you can alter contrast, brightness as well. I also like the fact that I can just click on a image and preview large screen and make the adjustment to size or whatever and save in a different format jpg, vector, png etc where as paint you can only save as bitmap. If you have MS Office I would recommend that. I did have a bit of a job finding it within the office programme to start with, don't know why they don't make it more obvious, I also defaulted it to open any image I clicked to open in Picture Manager. I have tried at least five different photo editing programmes but always come back to this as it is very easy to use.

Thank you so much for your help guys, I have been doing a bit of fiddling but what these posted results are actually going to look like in reality I am not sure, but here goes anyway. As you all know most of my photos are taken at extreme distance so they are never going to win any prizes, so just to record the event is ok by me. Some hobbies / interests I can take very seriously but as you all have probably worked out by now photography is not one of them! My philosophy is whenever possible keep it all very simple whatever it may be, unlike new computers which seem to be up dated far too often for ones very well-being! Alan Attachments:

So it seems to have worked after a fashion so here is one more, there are juvenile and adults in these photos. Attachments:
