Seen at Ardnamurchan Light house. Small bird with very long legs, it was crouching down when photo taken. Only managed to get one photo as it was a very fast mover.

Gosh I am a bit surprised. The Meadow Pipits I see around here seem to have much shorter legs, which is probably why I did not recognise it, legs so long in comparison to body I was convinced it must be a diddy wader. Wonder if living environment has anything to do with it. The one I see a lot of are on the pasturelands - low grass, where as this one was where the grasses reeds were very tall.

I think it would be more usual to see less of the leg - in your pic you can see the toes, the foot and fib & tib, you don't have the femur on show in your pic and more often than not you wouldn't see the fib & tib, just the toes and foot (which is often mistaken for leg).
