I frequently see groups of birds flying about the area, landing on power lines but taking off again before I can get a good look at them. I managed to get these yesterday with a shaky long lens. The dark band on the tail feathers is probably shadow and initially I thought dunnock but then thought the size was wrong - I think they're near blackbird size.
